Heart of the Motor
It was the end of an epic summer for 14-year-old Wyatt Eddy.
He’d bought a 1966 Ford F-100 he affectionately named Elmer, met a cute California girl who loved his laugh, and surfed his first wave cheered on by his older brother and hero, Wade.
As the September sun was setting over Doheny Beach, an unforgiving wave was about to change everything for the Eddy Family. Heart of the Motor is their story. A story of miracles arising from unimaginable loss and how one extraordinary life can save thousands more.
Our Mission
By honoring Wyatt’s life and sharing his story and the truck he loved, we hope to inspire organ donor registrations and save lives on the national transplant waitlist.
Inspired a story
That created a movement
To save thousands
Wyatt was a brilliant, big-for-his-age, kindhearted teen, known for his generosity and willingness to help those in need. It is fitting that his final gesture was to save several lives by donating his organs and inspiring a cause that will save many more.
Wyatt’s heart went to George, a classic car enthusiast in his 60’s.
His liver went to Ram, a father
of three in his 30’s.
His lungs went to a male in his 60’s.
His right kidney went to a
female in her teens.
and Pancreas
His left left kidney and pancreas
went to a male in his 50’s.
Tendon Tissue
Wyatt’s skin, bone & tendon tissue donations helped patients in 11 states.
